An original Singapore story, “Unsung” is an intimate portrait of two music pioneers who defy the odds to define their genres despite spending their lives and careers in relative obscurity.

Celebrating the indomitability of the human spirit, “Unsung” details the comeback attempts of 67 year-old Lim Kiang who helped to found Singapore’s first blues band, Straydogs and 42 year-old Nurmalis Meutia Bte Maizan, a original member of Obstacle Upsurge, the first local all-female hardcore punk band.

As these homegrown artistes wrestle to relevant in spite of niche audiences, limited visibility and personal challenges, “Unsung” reminds everyone that a song lies within each one of us, and that we should never leave it unsung.
