Death Is Not The End

The people of Toraja in the highlands of Sulawesi, Indonesia, live to die and each funeral is an extravagant celebration that is unlike any other in the world. In this beautiful land, centuries-old tradition is still practiced - funerals are lavish affairs with mass buffalo slaughtering and hundreds of guests.

However, death is not the end. When the funeral is over, the dead are still remembered and celebrated long after they are gone. Told through the ‘eyes’ of a recently deceased hundred-year-old Torajan matriarch, Ne' Kombo, Death Is Not The End is an intimate insight into her final journey to the afterlife. Ne' Kombo takes us behind the scenes and guides us through the unique culture and age-old traditions of her homeland.
